Julius "Bud" Van Overwalle, 99, a resident of John's Island for 30 years, died Sept. 16th at Royal Palm Convalescent Center in Vero Beach. He was born in South Bend, IN, and along with his son, owned and operated a Chevrolet and Oldsmobile dealership in Booton, NJ. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach. Survivors include his son, Jerry Van Overwalle of Kinnelon, N.J; daughters, Marcia Riordan of Brookfield, Conn., and Pamela Van Overwalle of Boston; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Elizabeth, in 2003. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Research, 96 Oak St., Hartford, Conn. 06106. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Sept. 20 at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Arrangements are by the Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home and Crematory in Vero Beach.
