Stewart Wells Morse, Jr. of Central Beach and Media, PA, died peacefully on August 31st. He was the devoted husband of Audrey (nee Emanuel) for 56 years. Mr. Morse was born in Binghamton, NY in 1927 the son of the late Stewart & Elsa, (Nee Schrepfer) Morse. He graduated from Deerfield Academy in Mass. and Princeton University. He served in Korea for the US Army. Mr. Morse was associated with Scott Paper Co. as a research chemist and computer specialist for 30 years, helping to create the first cling wrap. An accomplished member of the Vero Beach Sun Runners Club, he competed in many events including the 1981 Chicago Marathon. After retiring his wife encouraged him to 'go out and get a job' so he volunteered at the Indian River Memorial Hospital helping with computers, escorting patients and cheerfully doing whatever was needed. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and the Indian River Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, as well as his Vero Beach walking buddies, especially Peter Robinson with whom he delivered predawn newspapers to a select set of loyal patrons along their walking route. Stewart is survived by his wife Audrey, sons Alan (Heidi) of Chester Springs, PA, Stewart of Wilmington, DE, Theodore (Cheryl) of Birdsboro, PA and daughter Claudia (Jerry) Morse-Karzen of Wilmette, IL, his cherished grandchildre n, and brother Walter Morse of Hartford, CT. Visitation will be this Friday, Sept 5, 2008 from 7 to 9 PM at the Carr Funeral Home 935 S. Providence Rd, Wallingford, PA 19086. His funeral will be on Saturday, Sept 6, 2008 with Funeral Mass at 10 AM at St. John Chrysostom Church 617 S. Providence Road, Wallingford, PA 19086 Interment St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery, Chester Heights.
