Katherine T. Johnson, 72, of Riomar died Aug. 28th at the University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville, Va.

She was born in Seattle and was a longtime resident of Vero Beach, also living in Lewisburg, W.Va. She served as co-chairwoman of the Vero Beach Flower Show and co-chairwoman of the Vero Beach Art Club's Under the Oaks art show. She also taught at the Vero Beach Museum of Art.

She was a graduate of the University of Arizona, receiving a bachelor of fine arts degree. She was a member of the Pastel Society of America, Quail Valley Club and the Riomar Bay Yacht Club.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Rodolph L. Johnson of Vero Beach and Lewisburg, W.Va., sons, Buck Johnson of Tampa, Mark Johnson of Edgewater, Charlie Johnson of Vero Beach; daughter, Kit Fields of Vero Beach; and nine grandchildren.
