Jean Holstein Thomas, 81, who lived in the Coralstone condominiums on the barrier island, died July 14th.
Born in Syracuse, N.Y., she and her husband Edward Anthony Thomas moved to Vero Beach from Westport, CT, four years ago.
She attended Edward Smith School and Nottingham High School, receiving her bachelor's degree from Cornell University and a master's degree in early childhood education from New York University.
She held a variety of positions, including schoolteacher, Head Start administrator, antique shop owner and furniture salesperson.
Survivors include her husband; son, Paul Thomas; daughters, Sandy Thomas and Marti Thomas; brother, Alex Holstein; and three grandchildren.
